September Card Chain Challenge

Here is the card I received from Lin for the September Card Chain Challenge organized by Deborah.
Lin is the one who made the biggest number of cards in the Hero Arts Flickr pool: more than 500!

She sent me a gorgeous scene with pumpkins, falling leaves and a cute squirrel. Cherry on top: she made a matching ATC!
I really love these warm colors and also this little fence in the background. Talking about background, the one on the ATC is a photo of a quilt made by Lin. This lady is talented with a needle too!

Thank you so much, Lin, your cards are much appreciated, they will brighten the following Fall weeks! :)

Fall is here...

Fall is supposed to be next week but some trees are already loosing their leaves here. I really like this season, it's a shame winter is following! (I hate winter and everything that goes with it : cold, freeze, snow, short days,...brrr!)

Here is a very simple card I made using the "Say hello" Hero Arts clear set to celebrate the season. There will probably be some other ones as I am a Halloween fan!

I wanted this tree with Fall colors and I colored it with Promarkers.

I'll send it to Operation Write Home as I didn't participate to the challenges on the Hero Arts pool on Flickr last weekend so I need to make a few more.

Until next time!

A birthday card for Paola

Here is a little card I made for Paola's birthday:

I used a Whipper Snapper rubber stamp that I colored with Promarkers. I love the characters of this series.

Sorry for the bluish/greyish photos...

I had made an ATC to match the origami bookmark I sent with the card.

My own challenge

Last Sunday, while everyone at the Hero Arts pool on Flickr was joining the virtual Operation Write Home party, making cards like mad, I was starring at this:
And this:

And I was like paralized. I knew I wanted to join the party but I knew that I wouldn't be able to create a single card in this mess.
So slowly I began to tidy things up. I don't know at all where I put everything away. I have not the slightest idea!! But I ended up with this by the end of Sunday evening:
...which is a far better. The desk is still in the same state though and this is another story. But I now have a place to craft and even a chair to sit on it! Oh... luxury!

Unfortunately I had to admit that it was too late to make cards. I need to think a lot before making something and I was completely overwhelmed by all the challenges submitted on the Flickr pool (see all the cards that have been made). So I surrendered.

At least I will be able to craft a little bit during the next weekend and send some cards to the OWH project, if everything goes well...

Please, visit the Operation Write Home website.

Name this little guy!*

Find a name for this little guy and you'll have a chance to win a prize at Some Odd Girl!

I thought I would call him "Kiki" because he reminds me of............................ Kiki! That takes me back to my childhood... or is it my early teenage years?

Hero Arts September blog hop!

Today is the first day of the Hero Art September blog hop organized by Jenny from Wee Memories. There's no particular theme for this first round except letting us show off our style.

So I come back to my "first love" which was ATCs. I started making them 4 years ago. It shortly became an addiction, I organized an exhibition in my town, got the opportunity to write a book about it - and to be published in Sept. 2009! - and then it gradually became an... overdose! I guessed I made too many ATCs, saw and handled too many - 3200 during the exhibition and about 500 for the making of the book!!
But I can't deny that ATCs brought me to stamping and card making. I first used to make them using fabric and then added more and more paper... and inks... and stamps!

I still make a few ATCs from time to time though. Here is the last one I made for Paola who has just received it. I met her online a few years ago and we became friends - duh... was it on Swapbot? Paola, if you read this, can you refresh my memory please?? Thanks! ;-)
I sent her this ATC for her birthday lately, together with a card and a bookmark but I'll tell you more about that in another post.

This is very much my style! Using text to make the background is one of my classics. I hardly can't help it.
Here I used the Hero Arts "Friend Definition" background stamp but I could have used some old dictionary pages as I did so many times during these past years.
The Asian doll - stamped on some patterned paper - is also from Hero Arts and the butterfly is from the HA Digikit "Flutterbies".
The bamboo branch is from an Inkadinkado clear stamps set. And I ran the green piece of paper through my Cuttlebug to make the grass.

Have a nice Sunday!

Bon dimanche !
